Scout Plaque

The plaque you see here, dedicated to two local scout leaders, is a replica of the original plaque that can be found nearby in the Leader’s Room in the Scout Hall. The O symbol under each name means ‘I have gone home’ in the scout code.

Helensburgh’s Scout Troop, established in 1908, is one of the earliest troops registered, the founders inspired by the fortnightly publication of Robert Baden-Powell’s Scouting For Boys in the same year. The troop has a proud history of serving the local community since that time.
