THE ARTWORK
Cast in marine‑grade aluminium bronze, the half‑model was produced by Drysdale Brothers Foundry, installed by Charles Darnley Associates of Helensburgh, and unveiled in December 2021. THE HISTORY
Built in 1924, the Gareloch One Design yachts have long been a defining part of upper‑Clyde sailing.Intended as an affordable alternative to the large yachts of the period, they were constructed by apprentices at McGruer’s yard and have proved exceptionally durable — the entire original fleet remains in active racing, a rare achievement in classic yacht design.
