This is a representation of a bronze age food vessel excavated from Portkil, on the Rosneath Peninsula by the North Clyde Archaeological Society.

The artwork was designed and sculpted by Ruaraig Maciver, from Beltane Studios. It is 96% copper silicone bronze.

THE PLINTH
This is a representation of a bronze age food vessel excavated from Portkil, on the Rosneath Peninsula by the North Clyde Archaeological Society.
THE HISTORY
In 2019 the North Clyde Archaeological Society based in Helensburgh excavated an Early Bronze Age Cemetery site at Portkil on the Rosneath peninsula. The beautifully decorated, almost complete Food Vessel is a type of pottery usually found deposited as grave goods puts this area on the map of Scottish archaeological sites.
